📌 **Note:** If you cannot see the return in the Unfulfilled Obligations list, amend the dates to include the start date of the period you want to submit for.
If the return still does not appear, contact HMRC to confirm the VAT return is still outstanding and correctly flagged as an MTD submission type. To avoid this issue in future, submit any outstanding obligations before registering for MTD with HMRC.
There are three ways the submission can be made in this scenario, all of which require action from HMRC: 1. HMRC amends the obligation to flag it as the new MTD submission type, so it appears in ADT when you widen the date range. 2. HMRC provides a workaround method — typically a form to complete and submit by email. 3. HMRC reverts you to the old submission method (removing your MTD status) so you can submit through their old gateway. Once submitted, you would then re-register for MTD.
