Connect another Dimensions database to an existing setup

To add another Dimensions database you'll need to add it using the Access Connect Configuration Tool. If you are hosted by us, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.

It is advised to get your IT to go through the following steps.
If you are not hosted by us, you will need to:

  1. Go to the server where Access Connect is installed and open up the Access Connect Configuration Tool. This is usually in the following location: C:\Program Files\Access UK Ltd\Access Connect​​​​​​

  2. Click on Databases and enter the details for the Dimensions database you wish to link to Access Digital Tax

Auto generated ID for the database

Display Name

Name for the Database to be displayed in Access Digital Tax

Product

Product. Please enter "Dimensions"

Server

Server Name

Database

Database Name

SQL Windows Auth

Set if SQL Windows Authorisation being used to access the database

User Name

User Name to access the database

Password

Password to access the database

  1. Click Save

  2. Restart the Access Connect Service

You should now be able to select the Dimensions database in Access Digital Tax by editing your Data Sources.

Note: Ensure your Dimensions User has been synchronised with Workspace, or you may run into some errors when trying to edit your Data Sources in Access Digital Tax.
